Alright Swiss Monsters, today's "Random Act Of Beauty" features an American based company called Benrus. This company was started in New York in the 1920s and was family owned for most of it's reign.
For those not familiar with this interesting company and its very intriguing history, visit HERE (The finest historical article that I could find on Benrus)
This post is inspired by a beautiful example I saw yesterday. A gentleman happened to be wearing his grandfather's watch and shared a bit about it. I was somewhat familiar with the company but after researching for a few hours became amazed! So, I felt the need to share. Please note that while I call this company an American company a more accurate statement would be an American based company. The Benrus company used Swiss made movements and had international offices.
Below is a photo of a Benrus Chronograph. This beautiful piece is a cousin of the Rolex Pre/Daytona as it also houses the now infamous Valjoux 72.
