A Vancouver man must pay nearly $40,000 after failing to declare a Rolex watch worth twice that amount.
Please note the photo is a stock photo of a vintage Rolex.
Lesson:
If you find yourself traveling abroad and a Rolex captures your attention (or before the trip you think you may want to purchase a Rolex).
1. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR COUNTRY WITH A ROLEX (YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO ENTER WITH "1") So, bring a beater.
2. If/When you purchase a new Rolex remember to ship the box and papers back to your country (If you are so lucky to find a full set). After all who travels with box and papers...
3. Wear your newly acquired Rolex through customs (keep the Casio/Omega in the suitcase or on your wife's wrist).
