Hematite. It's in! But... What is it?

Hematite-is the mineral form of iron(III) oxide (Fe2O3), one of several iron oxides. Hematite crystallizes in the rhombohedral system, and it has the same crystal structure as ilmenite and corundum. Hematite and ilmenite form a complete solid solution at temperatures above 950 °C.

Hematite (also spelled haematite)  is seemingly all the rage, I've seen countless bracelet's made of the mineral. It can also be found in cut and polished form on the bezel of luxury watches (see photo of Hublot's Earl Gray.) 
The mineral also has a magnetic charge (see bracelet photos.) It appeals to the most esteemed connoisseur and collegiate. The bracelet shown below is owned by a mechanical engineering major, who made the bracelet from beads sourced from Tiffany & co Hobby Lobby. Do not be fooled, if Hobby Lobby is not glamorous or prestigious enough, one could pay upwards of Five to Ten Thousand for a piece designed by Angela Cummings.
