Spotlight: Rolex Oysterquartz.

Love it or Hate it! The fact is Rolex made a quartz watch (quite a few actually). In typical Rolex order, the movement was not a typical quartz movement. The movements introduced were highly engineered semi-mechanical movements which featured 11 jewels. The production of Rolex quartz timepieces began in 1970 and continued to around 2001!  I myself, have only seen OQ (Oysterquartz) pieces dating to the late 1990's but there were a "few" made in the early millennium. The OQ line included the iconic Datejust line as well as the Day-Date (President). The line also offered a version of the Oyster, Jubilee and President style bracelets. The design of all were highly updated and reminiscent of the Gerald Genta inspired Aps, PPs, VCs etc. The most sought after of the Oysterquartz line is the limited produced 18k white gold Day-Date variant.

The WG OQ is beautiful! Many collector's praise the watch for it's quartz accuracy as well as "having a more comfortable" bracelet.
