I Am Inspired By Elizabeth.

In years past, when a watch died, owners were left with the option to repair or purchase a new piece. With the introduction of the Quartz revolution, however, timepieces became cheaper and to many disposable. This period lead to a mass adoption of battery operated watches and an abandonment of older mechanical pieces. Over the years, the broken and neglected mechanical watches were discarded, some sold at garage sales and others simply thrown away. It seems like such a waste to collector's of timepieces but to many with pieces that were not particularly valuable or sentimental, it was reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon an Artist's Etsy page and discover the following.

It seems these once discarded movements live again. Though, they now enjoy a different state of relevance. They have purpose and at the very least they are beautiful.
